There is special beauty in the Karoo that one can appreciate here. What was very, very special to me was the farm kids who walk past with beaming faces early in the morning to catch fish in the pond. Their cheerful laughs and friendly greetings made morning coffee taste so much better.

It was one of the best stays I have had in a long time. The venue is very well equipped, you are not that far from town, and the tranquility is awesome. Just a perfect place to relax and unwind. Will definitely book again.
Nice house, everything you need is available. Especially the location on the water with countless waterfowl is very beautiful. The cottage is not insulated, which makes it less suitable for a stay in cold weather.
Very nice stay. Unfortunately did not meet the owners. Key was left in door. Also didn't know where to enter key. Sommer left in the door again when we walked. But cute spot should be very nice when pond is full.

Very nice cabin, beautiful view and total peace. The room was clean and neat, had towels and nice bedding as well as a much needed mosquito net! Overall totally worth the stay. The farm has a nice restaurant on site as well.

Soetdoring is close to the main road, in a tranquil setting next to the dam, a very comfortable cabin to overnight in. It would be nice to be able to walk around the dam. We tried, but it was very overgrown. All in all, a lovely spot to stay.
The stay was excellent. However, the place needs to be checked for cleanliness before guests arrive. The last cleaning was on 13 November according to the cleanliness chart. The towels also need to be replaced as they are really worn out. The ceiling fans have spider webs and could not be removed as they are too high. This can be resolved as the place has air conditioning. Also, there were too many switches that were not working, and maybe they can be marked to illustrate which switch is which.
Nice and quiet environment with epic views. The hosts are very accommodating and always helpful. We could check out at 12 instead of 10h30.
It was delicious, we really enjoyed it.
It was wonderfully peaceful. The canoe was great to paddle on the dam, great fun. Nice close to town, but just relax, didn't need anything. Great service for my friend who was staying alone in the chalet next door and for which they went the extra mile.
Amazing country feeling.
It was nice to use the indoor grill. The dam makes the place so peaceful, especially after a lot of rain. We will stay longer next time.
We had a very pleasant stay. There was an abundance of birdlife surrounding the cabin. It even got a bit noisy at night with all the frogs and nightlife, but it was still enjoyable. We did encounter some difficulty with the hot plates as the dials were not functioning properly, but overall the cabin was well-equipped with a comfortable bed and mosquito nets, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep.

We loved our little cabin - Plover - the indoor fireplace kept us cosy and the king-size bed was super comfortable with amazing linen. The view from the deck over the dam was spectacular - both in the mornings and evenings. Staff were super helpful and attentive. We will most definitely be back.
We just stayed in the "Fish Eagle" unit for a weekend and it was amazing. The sunrise was breathtaking. The place was neat, fully furnished and very clean. We had a great time inside the fireplace/fire (it did smoke a bit, so get dry wood if you can) during loadshedding and wish we could have stayed longer.

We had a great stay, but the unit was not 100% clean. I think no one had been there for a long time, because it was a bit dusty and the glasses had clearly not been washed for a long time. The hot water faucet at the kitchen sink didn't work, so I had to tap water in the bathroom to wash dishes. There is also no drying rack by the kitchen sink, so dishes had to lie flat. I think for the price they are asking, they can at least really make sure the taps are all working, there is a drying rack and the place is dusted before the new guests check in. And the one curtain rail kept falling out. So, little work is needed.
We really enjoyed staying there. Nice to be able to be just outside the town, would recommend to anyone.
It's a good spot for those who want to get away from the city life and noise, it's really a breath of fresh air, will recommend it to anyone going on vacation.

We enjoyed our stay very much, and feel that you definitely get value for your money. It's peaceful & beautiful. Unfortunately the one electric blanket was broken when we tried to use it as it was very cold, but other than that we enjoyed our stay very much.
We slept on a lovely bed, very nice view and indoor barbecue is fantastic for the winter weather. Thank you, we had a great time relaxing.

Amazing, clean and amazing service.
The unit had neat, clean bedding and floors. Unfortunately, the unit is not very clean. The cutlery, lights, ceiling fans, curtains were very dusty, cobwebs everywhere (on the ceiling fans, window frames, etc.). The couch is also no longer as clean as we wanted, we had to throw our own big blanket over it to make it more livable. WiFi had been down for a full day.

The cottage kitchens were not well equipped, our toilet stopped filling with water, the other cottage toilets made a big noise every time it flushed.
Soetdoring's customer service is smooth, the wooden houses have the most beautiful view and are fantastically furnished for a family with younger children. The pond is open, there is a walking/jogging trail on the farm and an awful lot to do in the area. We will stay there again.
House is small but it has everything you need. There is a fireplace/braai inside, but the cottage still gets very cold in the winter. Fortunately there were electric blankets on the beds for the cold nights. Would recommend that they provide an extra heater for the winter.
We were blown away by the beautiful wood cabins overlooking the dam - the birdlife was really impressive, and we could see the gorgeous snow-topped Swartberge in the distance.

Everything was perfect and well organized. Feedback and service was prompt and always on time. We will definitely stay at Soetdoring again.
We had a very quiet program. Dusk was nice with the braai fire and the geese and ducks on the dam, Nice rowing and also very nice pizza eaten at the Zeekoe farm's restaurant. Our program included the Swartberge pass and visits to nearby show ostrich farms.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Soetdoring. Incredible sunsets from the patio. Only thing is that we didn't have a full set of drinking glasses, which have probably been broken in the past and not replaced.
We (unfortunately) only stayed one night and now that we've found out about this beautiful place, we're definitely going back for longer! We were very impressed with the stone house where we stayed - nice and cuddly bedding and everything you need in the kitchen. The braai on the stoep (with enough wood - thank you very much), was the ideal place to hang out until late in the evening. Thank you for allowing us to visit the farm and for making it feel like home!

The cabin is the right size, location is amazing and I cannot wait to book another trip to stay! Cabin has everything and more that you need. The only downside is all the spiders, but otherwise I don't have any complaints. Super happy to have come across Soetdoring Selfsorg.
Beautiful, well equipped, not too far out of town, quiet, safe.
It was fantastic and I'll definitely visit again in tbe near future.
We could play board games, read, walk and switch off here. It's so close to everything in Oudtshoorn, but far enough for bliss.
